Car Buying Agent: Digital Inspection Report for Clients
Car buying agents and client trust: how to deliver an independent digital inspection report with photos, paint readings and OBD data through the QOVO app.
If you source cars for other people, trust is your main asset, and your main obstacle is the client wondering whether your assessment is truly independent. A car buying agent is a specialist who finds and checks a vehicle for the buyer before the deal. The QOVO app gives you a tool that removes that doubt: an independent digital report with photos and measurements for every car. And if you inspect vehicles yourself, QOVO lets you earn on inspections as well.
The trust problem in car sourcing
Clients hesitate for a simple reason: an agent has an interest in closing the deal, so how honest is the assessment. Once the condition of the car is backed by a structured digital report, the client sees facts instead of your opinion alone, and decides faster.
What the QOVO app gives you
- A digital report for your client. A document with photos, paint thickness readings, OBD diagnostics and a conclusion.
- A tool for your own client base. It works beyond platform orders, so you produce reports for your own clients straight from your phone.
- Transparency as an advantage. An independent report sets you apart from agents who work on their word alone.
- Faster work with several clients. A standard report for every car speeds up the routine.
To give your clients an independent digital report on every car, use the QOVO app at qovo.ai: capture photos and measurements on the spot and build a structured report from your phone.

What the report covers and how it is built
You already know how to look at a car. The question is what your client gets to see. The depth of an inspection varies from one specialist to another, so QOVO sets a baseline that stays the same for every check and turns your work into a document with a fixed structure.
The body is broken down into individual elements. Every part gets its own status in the report: either a confirmed sound condition or a described defect. The client sees a part by part picture instead of a general impression.
Measurements instead of eyeballing. Paint thickness in microns, remaining tread depth, odometer reading, VIN verification. A number carries more weight in price negotiation than the phrase "the wing has been resprayed."
Defects described in text or by voice. Mark a scratch and explain right away where it runs and what to look at. Comments are added as text or as a voice note, so you are not typing on a phone screen in the cold. The same applies to dents, tyre condition, photos and the service book.
Closer look wherever the gauge shows paint. The part is examined from every angle, and the plugs and bolts on the doors and bonnet are checked separately. Replaced fasteners point to a part that has been removed, and that stays documented in the report.
Interior, electrics and diagnostics. Dashboard, buttons, air conditioning, lights and indicators, plus computer diagnostics for stored fault codes. A full walkthrough of the process is here: What Happens During a Car Inspection.
Test drive as a separate block. How the car drives, how the engine starts, whether any faults appear, whether there is black smoke, how the gearbox shifts, whether there is an unusual smell. Each point is either confirmed or gets a comment.
Underbody check where a lift is available. The condition of the fasteners shows whether components have been taken apart.
A closing summary. A dedicated field where you describe the overall condition and give the client your recommendation.
Photos are mandatory and are taken with the in-app camera, with the gallery locked. That makes it impossible to assemble a report from listing photos. The client receives a PDF that can be put in front of the seller during negotiation.
How payment works
The client pays for the inspection and the inspector receives the money. QOVO takes a service percentage from the client payment separately, and you pay the platform nothing for registration or access to orders. If you hold diagnostic qualifications yourself, QOVO lets you not only order inspections but also carry them out and get paid for them.
When an agent can act as the inspector
An agent cannot be the inspector on their own deal, because they have an interest in the sale. On a deal where you are selling or sourcing the car for a client, the inspector has to be an independent party, otherwise the conflict of interest comes right back. On other people's deals, where you have no stake in the sale, you can work as an inspector and earn separately.
What this does for your business
Higher trust and faster client decisions, a negotiation argument built on documented defects, a more professional service without paying for software, and extra income on deals that are not yours. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Why an independent report if I inspect the car myself? Because the client questions the objectivity of an interested party. A report with photos and measurements confirms the condition with facts. You can produce one through the QOVO app.
What does QOVO cost to use? Nothing for registration or access to orders. QOVO earns from the fee charged to the client.
Can I use it for my own clients? Yes, the app works beyond platform orders.
What does the report contain? The status of every body element, paint thickness readings in microns, remaining tread depth, VIN verification, interior and electrics checks, computer diagnostics, a test drive block and a closing summary. Any point can carry a text or voice comment. Delivered as a PDF with live photos.
